Rowen Barbary Calm & Comfort is a carefully formulated, high-fibre feed designed to meet the needs of horses and ponies requiring  a low-energy, non-heating diet. Free from cereals, molasses, and alfalfa, it’s ideal for those prone to metabolic disorders, excitable  behaviour, laminitis, or digestive sensitivities. With a low starch content of 4.0% and sugar at just 3.7%, it supports metabolic health  and helps manage dietary-related conditions.

This unique feed includes a soothing botanical blend of Chamomile, Nettle, and Mint to naturally promote calmness and well-being.  Cleavers and Marigold are incorporated to support lymphatic health, making it especially beneficial for feathered breeds and those  managing conditions like Mallenders, Sallenders, or Chronic Progressive Lymphedema (CPL).

To enhance gut health, Calm & Comfort features Calcareous Marine Algae and ActiSaf live yeast, which aid digestion and support horses  prone to ulcers or digestive challenges. Fully balanced with essential vitamins and minerals, it helps maintain condition, vitality, and overall  well-being.

Additionally, Calm & Comfort is completely biotin-free, aligning with the needs of horses sensitive to its inclusion.

Feeding Guidelines for Calm & Comfort

Calm & Comfort can be fed dry or soaked to suit your horse’s needs. Soaked in cold water, it forms a  soft, tasty mash in 10 minutes—faster with warm water. This makes it ideal for horses with poor teeth,  diastemas, or those needing extra hydration. Whether dry or as a mash, it’s a versatile, comforting  feed your horse will love.

200g per 100kg bodyweight per day.  A tradition round plastic scoops can hold 1Kg of feed approx.

Please note that if your order included free delivery and a return is made that brings the total order value below £75, a standard delivery charge of £4.95/6.95 will be deducted from your return total.

Orders for next day delivery must be made before 12pm. Orders placed after 12pm on Fridays will be shipped the following Monday.

Once you've placed your order, we aim to get it to you quickly. Most orders dispatch within 24 hours. If an item is out of stock, we'll contact you with an expected restock date. Weekend orders are processed from Monday onwards.

All orders placed over Bank Holiday Weekends will be dispatched on the Next Working Day. This includes Next Day Delivery.
